I will be discussing whether or not a Veterinarian should be allowed to use the title of “DOCTOR” and do you think our pets should be recognized as property? I’m against both! Veterinarians love flaunting that fancy title of “Doctor,” but conveniently forget about the responsibilities that come with that title.The veterinary medicine profession is under the regulation of veterinarians themselves. Can you believe that? That’s like asking parents to grade their child’s school work! It’s no wonder they prioritize their own interests over the public’s. Talk about bias! Veterinarians are the lucky ones who get a free pass when it comes to lawsuits for their negligence and their malpractice they cause to animals.Respect is something that needs to be earned, not handed out like free candy.I watched several California State Veterinary Medical Board meetings online. These meetings are evidence of a broken system within the California Department of Consumer Affairs. These meetings aren’t about the consumer or our pets. They are directed towards the Veterinarian, the Veterinarian and the Veterinarian! These Veterinarian’s share something in common, greed! They all want what’s best for their own practice. Their concerns for the consumer and animal come last.Our pets are cherished members of our families. They are living beings who deserve to be treated as such, not mere property. I think it’s about time for the legal system to catch up with the cultural shift in how pet owners view their beloved companions.”I’d be thrilled if they recognized animals as sentient beings. My Jack Russell Terrier, was like the son I never had and I was his devoted father. Our pets hold immeasurable value in our hearts, and that’s what truly matters.So, let’s not settle for a system that protects veterinarians at the expense of our voiceless companions. It’s time to demand change, to ensure that our pets receive the care and respect they deserve. After all, they bring so much joy, love, and laughter into our lives. Let’s fight for change where their well-being is prioritized and where their status as cherished family members is recognized by all.a
